HELP US STOP THE THEATER!

Proposed project:
The Monrovia Planning Commission and the Old Town Merchants are
planning a 12 screen, 2,700 seat MOVIE THEATER COMPLEX to be
located between Myrtle Avenue and Ivy, on Lemon Avenue.

Negative impact:
There is not enough existing or planned parking to accommodate
the project. The City is proposing a shared parking concept that
does not apply to our downtown area. Parking will extend to
already crowded residential streets.

Planned traffic flow in and around the Old Town area will not be
able to handle the influx of an additional 400-800 cars that will
be in the City during show changes.

Potentially, 13,000 or more movie customers per day will visit
our city. This will create a higher risk of burglaries,
vandals, etc. The hours of operation extend to 12:30 a.m. daily.

The Monrovia City Council votes on the theater project this
month.

Please attend the meeting on Tuesday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Help us protect our neighborhoods. Fight the project!

If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can still help us!
