Monrovia is located just 20 miles northeast of the City of Los Angeles, nestled at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. Part of the San Gabriel Valley eight miles east of Pasadena, Monrovia enjoys an average yearly temperature of 65 degrees. Average yearly rainfall is 20.9 inches based on a 100 year average. The prevailing wind blows in the southwesterly direction with a mean hourly speed of 2 to 4 miles per hour.

We don't like to brag, but life in Monrovia has much to offer whether you're in town on business, as a visitor, or making your home here. Monrovia's business, industrial, and retail sectors support a strong economy for those who live and work in the community.

Monrovia's small-town atmosphere is one of the city's most appealing features, according to an independent survey conducted at the City Council's request. A small town, with the best of the big city features: wide ranges of employment opportunities, shopping facilities, cultural events, and human services. Improving the quality of life is an important goal... and one to which I believe all cities aspire. Monrovia has been fortunate in its 110 year history to grow into a community that offers such an appealing lifestyle.
