GENERAL INFORMATION

The City of Monrovia is conveniently connected to one of the most extensive transportation networks in the world. Nestled at the base of the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains on the 210 Freeway, Monrovia is just minutes from the 605 Freeway. From this ideal location, Monrovia offers easy access to Los Angeles and the major Southland counties of Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura.

With demonstrated experience in "fast-tracking," the Monrovia Redevelopment Agency has invested in the future of the community through a long list of successful residential, commercial and industrial projects with a total value exceeding $175 million.

The array of successful projects includes two major hotels, a 29-acre shopping center, an auto center with 10 new auto franchises, a restaurant row and a high-tech research and development corridor.

The City has efficiently redeveloped its commercial and industrial areas based on careful planning and a vision of the community's future. At the same time, Monrovia has preserved its heritage. The historic downtown and the tree-lined neighborhoods evoke the "old" Monrovia incorporated in 1886. Along with preserving its turn-of-the-century homes, and 200-year-old oak trees, Monrovia has also preserved the values of the past.

This community is a full-service City with its own police, public works and fire departments. The City has 121 acres of urban parks, a wilderness area in the foothills, a full-range of housing, from rentals to hillside estates, plus all the friendliness and tranquillity of a small town.

Monrovia has the best of all worlds in the midst of the largest and fastest-growing megalopolis in the United States.
